SHEARLING

How to care for a shearling coat?

Shearling is an exceptional natural material combining leather's suppleness with wool's warmth retained on the inside. Valued for thermal properties and longevity, it lends pieces a timeless, protective appeal.

Like all leather, it requires careful maintenance to preserve its suppleness and appearance over time.

  • Cleaning :

  • In case of stains, entrust the garment to a leather and shearling care specialist.

  • Protection :

  • Upon purchasing a shearling jacket or coat, we recommend applying a suitable waterproofing spray. Spray the product onto a dry garment from a distance of approximately 30 cm, after testing on an inconspicuous area. Repeat the process every five to six months.

  • Moisture :

  • Exposure to water can damage shearling. If the garment becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally in open air, away from heat sources.

  • Storage :

  • At the end of the season, air the garment before storing. Hang it on a hanger and store it in a micro-perforated non-woven garment cover in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat sources. Avoid plastic covers, which prevent the material from breathing.
