About Sandro Paris - Ready-to-wear and accessories collections
Since 1984, in our Parisian studios, SANDRO’s creative teams have been designing ready-to-wear and accessories collections that combine elegance and modernity while expressing a distinctive vision of Parisian style.

Throughout our collections, our priority has always been to create high-quality products and make luxury and style accessible. For several years now, this commitment to quality has gone hand in hand with a consideration of environmental and social issues across our activities, as well as a desire to be transparent with our customers.

We have set ambitious goals, but the road ahead is full of challenges.

Along the way, we wanted to open the doors of our fashion house a little wider and show you the work we have already undertaken.

OUR MATERIALS

This is the starting point for creating our clothes and accessories: the selection and manufacturing of the raw materials they are made from. It is also here, upstream in our value chains, that the most significant part of our sector's environmental impact lies.

We select the materials we use with the greatest care. We aim to offer our customers fine materials, such as cotton, linen, viscose, silk, wool and cashmere, produced and processed using methods that limit their environmental impact.

Committed to improving the environmental footprint of the materials that make up our creations, we are focusing our efforts on more responsibly sourcing the most-used materials in our collections: organic cotton, Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified wool, Leather Working Group (LWG) certified leather and recycled polyester. In addition, 100% of our jeans are washed using a system that consumes 95% less water than conventional washing. These materials present a significant challenge from both an economic and a sourcing perspective. As they are in limited supply, we are making every effort to ensure their availability by strengthening our partnerships with our suppliers.

OUR DEFINITION OF A MORE RESPONSIBLE REFERENCE

At SANDRO, a product is considered more responsible if it meets one or more of these criteria:

  • At least 50% of its main material is certified by environmental labels or trademarks recognized for their environmental credentials.

  • Some of the processing stages are certified by environmental labels (leather tanning, weaving/knitting, textile dyeing).

THE COTTON

Cotton is the world's most produced natural fiber and one of the most widely used in the textile industry.

Choosing organic cotton certified by GOTS or OCS standards is a more ethical and ecological choice. From seed to flower harvest, it is grown without pesticides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers, and is GMO-free. Its cultivation respects ecosystems, does not deplete the soil, uses less water than conventional cotton and is not toxic for the growers.

Recycled cotton comes from clothing collected by organizations or from fabric offcuts from the garment manufacturing process. After being sorted by color and quality, these materials are shredded, broken down into fibers, and spun to create a fabric that is then used to make new garments.

Recycled cotton allows new clothes to be made without the need to grow more cotton, making it a very good circular alternative.
2025
Where we are now
93% of our t-shirts and sweatshirts and 62% of our entire cotton range are made from organic or recycled cotton.
2028
Our commitments
85% of the entire range in organic or recycled cotton by 2028.

THE WOOL

Wool, a natural fiber with many qualities, is distinguished by its durability, excellent thermal properties and its ability to be easily dyed. Found in our sweaters, suits, cardigans, dresses, coats and some accessories, it embodies a choice that is both functional and refined at the heart of the Sandro wardrobe.

The main environmental impacts of wool are linked to the greenhouse gas emissions generated by sheep farming, as well as the soil degradation caused by overgrazing. Its production can also raise animal welfare concerns.

At Sandro, we are committed to limiting these impacts by prioritising wool certified by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), a standard that guarantees both the preservation of ecosystems and animal welfare.

We also incorporate recycled wool, sourced from fabric offcuts or garments that have already had a first life. This approach allows us to make use of existing resources that might otherwise have been thrown away, and is fully in line with a circular economy model, which is more sustainable and responsible.

NATIVA™ Regenerative Wool - Sandro Paris

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH NATIVA™ FOR WOOL FROM REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE

Sandro collaborates with NATIVA™ through the NATIVARegen™ programme, which supports livestock farms in their transition to regenerative agricultural practices.

Implemented notably in Uruguay, this programme addresses several areas: soil health, biodiversity, water management, animal welfare, and support for farmers and local communities. The practices implemented and their results are monitored to measure their impact over time.

The NATIVARegen™ wool used by Sandro also benefits from a traceability system that tracks its journey from the farms of origin through the various stages of the supply chain.

Since the FW25 season, several Sandro styles have incorporated NATIVARegen™ wool sourced from Uruguay. Sandro aims to gradually increase the use of this wool across its collections.

VISCOSE

A staple of the textile industry, viscose is a versatile material used to create fabrics that are durable, soft, fluid and comfortable to wear.

It is obtained through a chemical process that recreates man-made fibres from plant-based cellulose derived from wood, cotton, bamboo or eucalyptus. A polluting and resource-intensive process that a growing number of producers are seeking to make more responsible, by acting on both forest management and the fibre manufacturing process.

At Sandro, we are increasingly favouring the use of viscose made from cellulose sourced from certified forests that are sustainably managed and respectful of ecosystems.

To take things a step further, we are also increasingly using LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose for our creations. Certified by the EU Ecolabel, ECOVERO™ viscose generates up to 50% lower CO2 emissions and water consumption compared to conventional viscose. The wood used to produce these fibers also comes from sustainably managed forests.
2025
Our commitments
100% of the viscose used by Sandro is sourced from at least sustainably managed forests. And within this percentage, 30% is the result of lower-impact manufacturing processes, such as Ecovero™ viscose.
2028
Our commitment
75% of our viscose will be sourced from lower-impact manufacturing processes, such as Ecovero™.

LEATHER

Leather, an exceptional natural material, is distinguished by its suppleness, body, elasticity and great resistance.

Thanks to these unique properties, leather pieces stand the test of time with style and durability. At Sandro, all our leather is sourced from the food industry: the hide, considered a by-product of this sector, is upcycled as part of a more responsible approach, helping to reduce resource waste.

The main environmental impacts of leather relate to the greenhouse gas emissions generated by livestock farming, the use of chemicals, the management of effluent and waste, and steam or dust emissions during the tanning stages.

Aware of these challenges, we have joined the Leather Working Group (LWG), a leading initiative that assesses and certifies tanneries based on their environmental practices, particularly in terms of water and energy consumption, and chemical management.
At SANDRO, the leathers used in our more responsible selections are sourced exclusively from Silver or Gold certified tanneries, the two most stringent levels of this certification, guaranteeing a commitment to a more sustainable industry.

We also use Synderme for our Saffiano accessories range. This material is made from natural leather fibers mixed with a synthetic binder, which allows us to upcycle leather offcuts from the cutting process. Synderme is therefore a reconstituted leather, and as such can be considered a recycled leather.

Finally, some of our pieces are made from vegetable-tanned leather, an alternative to traditional tanning. This process uses a majority of natural ingredients (bark, fruit husks, plants), unlike conventional tanning, which is synthetic in origin.
2025
Where we are now
89% of the leather used in our collections is sourced from tanneries audited by the Leather Working Group with better environmental performance.
2028
Our commitments
100% of our leather will be sourced from audited tanneries with high environmental performance.
Recycled polyester - Sandro Paris

POLYESTER

At Sandro, material selection is an integral part of the design process. Our designers select textiles based, among other things, on their appearance, comfort and the characteristics required for each piece.

For certain designs, using polyester or other synthetic fibres makes it possible to achieve specific properties. Polyester is used, in particular, to create certain pleated effects and has the advantage of being relatively crease-resistant.

Some of our designs contain recycled polyester certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) or the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), which allow the presence of recycled material and its traceability throughout the supply chain to be verified.
2025
Where we stand
55% of the polyester used in our collections is recycled polyester.
2028
Our commitments
100% recycled polyester by 2028.
Our responsible production - Sandro Paris

OUR PRODUCTION

It is in the heart of Paris, in the design studios and workshops, that the first prototypes of the Sandro collections are created.

Production then extends to a network of 140 partner sites spread across some thirty countries, including Portugal, France, Italy, Turkey, China, Serbia, Bulgaria and Tunisia. The selection of our partners is guided above all by the search for technical expertise, which is sometimes rare, while also relying on social and environmental audits.

The selection of our partners is guided above all by the search for technical expertise, which is sometimes rare, while also relying on social and environmental audits.

Furthermore, another of our daily concerns is to improve our production by precisely aligning our volumes with our actual needs. To achieve this, we have implemented new demand planning tools. They allow us to adjust the quantities manufactured, gain agility in distribution, and thus significantly reduce our residual stock at the end of the season.

OUR SUPPLIER AUDITS

SANDRO is committed to more ethical and responsible production through our social and environmental compliance policy. Many of our suppliers and manufacturers are long-standing partners who have grown with Sandro. We maintain special relationships with them; while ensuring they adhere to our social and environmental standards.

The supplier's social and environmental compliance policy is based on the following framework:

  • The mandatory signing by all suppliers of a code of conduct detailing our requirements.

  • When onboarding a new supplier, the collection and review of social audits or social certifications held by the manufacturing sites.

  • The completion of social and environmental audits, which can either be commissioned by Sandro or carried out at the request of other companies according to standards recognized by the SMCP group (BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, WCA, and SA 8000 for social; ISO 14 001, Bluesign, Step by Oeko-Tex for the environment).

  • Monitoring non-conformities identified during audits and implementing subsequent corrective action plans.

Traceability of our products - Sandro Paris

TRACEABILITY

Gaining a better understanding of our supply chain is one of our priorities, enabling us to obtain more accurate information about the origin of our products and the various stages of their manufacture.

To this end, we have been working with an independent third party since 2022 to trace the journey of our products and collect information at each stage about the certifications held by our suppliers (social audits and safety and environmental certifications). The information collected is shared with customers via QR codes on product labels or online.

Through a QR code on the product label or directly on the product page of our online store, we transparently disclose information about the suppliers involved at each stage of the production chain.

In 2025, 100% of the product references in the Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025 collections complied with the traceability requirements set out in France's AGEC law (weaving, dyeing, assembly/finishing stages for textiles; stitching, assembly and finishing stages for footwear).

Our goal is to identify every stage of production by 2030, including the countries where our main raw materials are produced (cotton, viscose, wool, polyester and leather).
